We have excellent facilities to enable a broad range of opportunities for our children to experience throughout the year. The recent addition of our new sports Hall has greatly complemented the large hall and extensive field, allowing us to provide multiple activities simultaneously and to host sporting events for other schools.
All children have two hours of PE lessons a week; one indoor and one outdoor (weather permitting).
Children learn to swim at Calday Baths in Years 4, 5 and 6 and have an intensive week of swimming lessons each year, taken by the class teacher and a fully-qualified swimming instructor.
Year 4 children develop their team building and problem solving skills through a residential visit to the Barnstondale Centre, Wirral where activities are led by the school staff.
When the children reach Y6 they develop their outdoor pursuits skills through a residential visit to The Oaklands Outdoor Pursuits Centre in North Wales, where qualified instructors help with problem solving, team building, gorge walking, canoeing and abseiling.
We are very keen to provide the children with a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities as part of our extended provision, which reflects the various interests of the children.
Recent sporting clubs have included football, rugby, cricket, netball, tennis, judo, fencing, street dancing, running and multi-games activities etc.
These clubs take place before school, during lunchtime and after school and we ensure that all year groups can access sporting clubs throughout the year.
