Places at Great Meols Primary School are allocated by the Local Authority, following criteria stated in the Primary Education Booklet found on the Wirral Council website. This link will also provide information on the oversubscription criteria and the appeals process.

Admissions Pre-School (Foundation Stage 1)

Applications for Foundation Stage 1 for entrance in September 2024 are now closed.

Admissions to Reception (Foundation Stage 2)

Applications for Foundation Stage 2 for entrance in September 2024 are now closed.

Parents wishing to send their children to this school should complete the Wirral Authority Primary Preference online form and return it to the Children and Young People’s Department by the published deadline.

In the few months before they begin school, parents are invited to meet the Headteacher and other teachers. Every effort is made to have children in school for an informal session before they officially start.

Children are admitted full time in September unless parents feel that their child is not ready for this. By law, children must start school at the commencement of the term following that in which they have their fifth birthday.

Admissions to any other year group

Parents wishing to send their children to any other year group should make an appointment to see the Headteacher. Parents will then be shown around the school, and an Application Form is available on the Wirral Council website. This will then be forwarded to the Children and Young People’s Department.

Please do not hesitate to contact the Headteacher for further details or clarification regarding admissions. Whilst the Local Authority is the official admissions body, information is available from school and if you wish to view the school please contact the school office.
